Jim’s newest piece for wind orchestra, Joie de Vivre, has its world premiere on Saturday, June 4th in Duluth, Minnesota with the Twin Ports Wind Orchestra. Jim will be performing on guitar, and Marissa Dodge will be the featured jazz vocalist. Dr. Mark Whitlock, conducting.
On January 6th, Jim will be performing his concerto for electric guitar, Chaos Theory, at the New Mexico All-State Convention with the Las Cruces High Symphonic Winds, Trae Blanco conducting.
The Mountain View High School Concert Band will be performing Reflections in a Tidal Pool, and Jim will be performing Angels with Dirty Faces and Chaos Theory with the Mountain View High School Symphonic Band,with Peter Toews conducting.
Jim will be part of a panel of video game composers (Aubrey Hodges (Doom 64), Gene Rozenberg (Henry Hatsworth) and Duncan Watt (Brothers In Arms: Hell’s Highway)), for an audiovisual trip celebrating great videogame music – past, present, and future – at the JamSpace of the PAX East convention at 3:00 PM on Friday. Jim will be artist in residence at Eastern Illinois University, when Dr. Milton Allen and the EIU Wind Ensemble perform Jim’s composition, Diabolus Ex Machina. Jim will also perform the electric guitar part with the ensemble.
